About the author-Judson Jeffrey Somerville MD
He is a seventh generation Texan currently residing in Laredo, Texas. He began his professional career as a chemical engineer and then attended medical school. Upon graduating from McGovern Medical School in 1988, began his residency training at The University of Massachusetts Medical Center in general surgery. After completing two years of that training he switched to anesthesiology. After completing that training in 1994 he began private practice in Laredo, Texas and transitioned to full time interventional pain management. Where he soon published and became an expert in that field, spending the next 23 years of his life helping people cope with their chronic pain.
While in his anesthesiology residency training he was involved in a serve bicycle accident that result in him becoming paraplegic and wheelchair bound. Becoming the first one to suffer such an injury and complete that training. He has had many challenges since then and all of those challenges have led him to having a unique capability, as both a patient and physician, to empathize with patients under his care and understand their issues on both a professional and personal level.
He has been an unwavering advocate for many issues including patients’ rights, stem cell research and the healing benefits of vitamin D3. These interests have led him to write his first book. This book is about the life changing properties of this humble substance called vitamin D3 and its effects when used at optimal doses.
